In 2013 Paddle Canada created this program in partnership with the National Search and Rescue Secretariat. This safety awareness program is the latest addition to the mix of existing land and snow based programs of AdventureSmart (www.adventuresmart.ca).
The AdventureSmart is targeted towards novice to experienced paddlers or other interested parties. The program is deliver through interactive activities highlighting the Three Ts, Trip Planning, Training, and Taking the Essentials.

Taking the Essentials
taking the basic equipment and know how to use it for your chosen activity
3 Programs: PaddleSmart, Hug-a-tree and Survive. Survive Outside/Snow Safety can be delivered to your group.
